Trump Announces Creation of ‘Efficiency Commission’ Led by Elon Musk if Elected

New York: Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that, if elected, he will appoint billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk as the head of a new “Government Efficiency Commission.”

During a campaign speech at the New York Economic Club, Trump described his economic plan as a “National Economic Renaissance” and promised economic prosperity.

He stated that the Efficiency Commission he plans to establish will audit the federal government and propose significant reforms, aiming to eliminate fraud and financial irregularities within six months of its formation.

It is noteworthy that the U.S. already has an independent Government Accountability Office (GAO) that serves as a federal watchdog agency, overseeing federal spending and performance.

Details on how Trump’s proposed commission will be established and operate have not been provided.
