Thailand: School Bus Catches Fire, Multiple Fatalities Feared

Bangkok: A school bus caught fire in Thailand, with fears of more than 25 fatalities.

According to foreign media reports, the fire broke out on a school bus in the suburbs of Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, on Tuesday morning while schoolchildren and teachers were on board heading to their destination.

The report states that the bus had 44 passengers, including 38 students and 6 teachers. It is feared that 25 people have lost their lives, with many others injured.

The Thai Minister of Transport, in a media briefing, mentioned that the children and teachers on the bus were on a trip, traveling from Thani province to another province when the accident occurred.

According to the Thai Minister of Interior, the school bus driver fled the scene. No confirmed details about the number of casualties can be provided yet, as investigations are still ongoing.
