Shakeel Khan Labels the Good Governance Committee as a Bad Governance Committee on Imran Khan’s Instructions

Shakeel Khan, the former Minister for Communication and Works in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has labeled the Good Governance Committee established on Imran Khan’s instructions as the Bad Governance Committee.

Shakeel Khan, who was dismissed from his position, stated that a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the corruption allegations against him, and he is also prepared for a NAB (National Accountability Bureau) inquiry.

Regarding the committee formed to combat corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Imran Khan’s directive, he said that it is not a good governance committee but rather a bad governance committee.

Shakeel Khan further mentioned that President Arif Alvi has assured him of a meeting with the PTI founder soon, and he plans to present all details to Imran Khan in that meeting. He stated that he would remain silent until the PTI rally on September 8, after which he will present his stance to the public.

It is noteworthy that Shakeel Khan had previously resigned from his ministerial position, accusing Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of interference and bad governance in his department. Khan alleged that the Chief Minister was acting on someone else’s instructions and that the provincial government was compromising its fundamental principles and promises.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur stated that Shakeel Khan did not resign but was dismissed by him.

For context, following the success in the February 8 elections and the establishment of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a three-member Good Governance Committee was formed on Imran Khan’s instructions. The committee included Brigadier (retd) Musaddiq Abbasi, former Governor Shah Farman, and Qazi Anwar Advocate.
