Rain Causes Destruction Across Various Parts of the Country: 8 Dead, Low-Lying Areas Submerged

Heavy rains have caused widespread destruction in various parts of the country, leading to flooding in several areas, while low-lying regions in multiple districts of Punjab have been submerged.

In Punjab, rain-related incidents in Faisalabad, Narowal, and Rahim Yar Khan resulted in the deaths of 8 people.

In the mountainous regions of Koh-e-Suleiman in Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan, torrential rains have caused streams and rivers to overflow.

In Balochistan, flash floods in areas like Toba Achakzai, Toba Kakari, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, and Ziarat have damaged crops, while walls and solar panels have collapsed, injuring 10 people.

In Chaman, the railway track was washed away by the floodwaters, while a breach occurred in the railway track in Nushki, disrupting the rail link between Pakistan and Iran.

In Garhi Khairo near Jacobabad, a 70-foot-wide breach in a canal has submerged rice crops.

There is also a forecast of more rain and the possibility of urban flooding in various parts of the country.

In Khairpur, Sukkur, and surrounding areas, heavy rains were reported, with Sukkur recording 180 millimeters of rainfall. The rain has also caused power outages in several areas.

In South Waziristan, flash floods after heavy rains have caused significant damage, with floodwaters entering Jandola Bazaar, damaging agricultural lands.

Landslides triggered by the heavy rains have blocked several points on the Wana-Gomal Zam Road, disrupting traffic flow.

Meanwhile, in Khyber, flash floods have occurred in seasonal streams following the rains, with locals engaged in self-help efforts to implement protective measures.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that heavy rains are expected today in parts of Sindh, Punjab, and eastern Balochistan.
