The Punjab Wildlife Department has arrested 8 poachers involved in the illegal hunting of falcons.
According to the spokesperson, effective operations against illegal falcon hunting were carried out across the province under the directive of Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
The spokesperson stated that in Sargodha region, 3 poachers were apprehended, and in Tehsil Noorpur Thal, 3 more poachers were caught at various locations.
DG Wildlife Punjab, Mudassir Riaz Malik, mentioned that cases against officers and employees involved in facilitating the poachers would be referred to the Anti-Corruption Department.
He further added that legal action has been initiated against the arrested individuals under violations of the Wildlife Act.
