Protests by Doctors Continue Over the Rape and Murder of a Female Trainee Doctor

In Kolkata, India, protests continue nationwide as doctors express their outrage over the brutal rape and murder of a female trainee doctor.

Medical services have been suspended in several cities as a sign of protest, and the Indian Medical Association has announced a 24-hour strike, exempting only emergency services.

The BJP and other political parties are also holding protests in the city.

Investigations into the murder of the female doctor are ongoing, with the Indian CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) summoning four doctors and the former principal of the college for questioning.

It is important to note that a week ago, the body of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor was found in a room at the medical college in Kolkata.

The post-mortem confirmed that the doctor had been sexually assaulted, leading to widespread protests by doctors and strikes in various hospitals.
