PPP and JUI Dismiss Speculations about Constitutional Amendments in Parliament Session
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) have dismissed the matter of possible constitutional amendments as mere speculation during a parliamentary session.
JUI-F leader Kamran Murtaza stated that the government does not have the numbers required for constitutional amendments.
Expressing his views on the constitutional amendment, PPP leader Hassan Murtaza said that there has been no discussion within the PPP ranks regarding any potential constitutional amendment because it simply does not exist.
It is worth noting that two days ago, in Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence, where they held detailed consultations on possible legislation in the coming week.
Sources have reported that the meeting also addressed JUI’s concerns regarding the ruling coalition.
