Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital Faces Financial Crisis; Operations Under Sehat Card Halted
Peshawar: Lady Reading Hospital, the largest hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is facing a severe financial crisis, leading to the suspension of operations under the Sehat Card program.
Patients coming from remote areas are experiencing difficulties due to the lack of operations at the hospital.
Chairman of the Board of Governors of Lady Reading Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Zubair, confirmed that the hospital is in a financial crisis and lacks funds even for medicines.
He added that the government is not providing funds for the Sehat Card, although emergency operations are still being conducted under the program.
Dr. Zubair stated that the hospital is receiving only 580 million rupees instead of the required 900 million rupees.
