Pakistani Pilgrims’ Bus Accident in Iran: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Activates Crisis Management Unit

Following a bus accident involving Pakistani pilgrims in Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated a Crisis Management Unit.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, phone numbers have been issued to assist the families of Pakistani pilgrims.

The families of the Pakistani pilgrims can contact the Islamabad office at 0519207887 and the Karachi office at 03009310095 or 0332755663 for assistance and information.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will operate 24 hours a day.

It is noteworthy that the previous day, a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims met with an accident near the city of Yazd in Iran due to overspeeding and brake failure. The accident resulted in the deaths of 35 Pakistani pilgrims, with many others injured.

The Pakistani ambassador to Iran stated that the Pakistani embassy immediately took action upon receiving the news and contacted Iranian authorities. They are also in contact with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the local government in Yazd.

He mentioned that efforts are being made to provide all possible assistance to the injured, and Pakistani diplomatic officials have been dispatched from Tehran to assist them. The bodies of those who lost their lives will be sent back to Pakistan as soon as possible.
