Nurse Demands 5,000 Tip at Birth, Baby Dies Due to Negligence
A family in India lost their newborn due to a nurse’s demand for money.
According to Indian media, this incident occurred in the city of Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman named Sanjli gave birth to a son in a hospital.
Reports indicate that the nurse, Jyoti Bhadoria, allegedly demanded a tip of 5,100 Indian Rupees. When the family was unable to pay the amount, the nurse left the newborn on the labor room table and refused to assist until the payment was made.
It was reported that the baby’s father borrowed money from his brother to pay the nurse, but due to the 40-minute delay in receiving care, the newborn’s condition worsened. The baby was then transferred to another hospital, where he succumbed.
Media reports state that the family filed a complaint with the police regarding the inhumane behavior of the hospital and the nurse. In response, a medical team was formed, and the nurse was immediately dismissed.
