A new variant of monkeypox has been detected in various countries across Africa.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox a global emergency.

According to WHO, the new variant of monkeypox is rapidly spreading in 13 African countries, with the outbreak progressing quickly in the Congo.

In response, Pakistan has decided to implement measures to prevent diseases, including monkeypox and Zika virus, at all entry points.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has issued an alert to border health services following the rising cases of monkeypox worldwide and the spread of Zika virus in India.

NCOC officials have directed that travelers arriving in Pakistan from abroad be monitored and that suspected monkeypox patients be quarantined in special wards.
