National hero Arshad Nadeem receives grand welcome upon return from Paris Olympics

Lahore: Arshad Nadeem, the Olympic gold medalist who made history at the Paris Olympics, received a grand welcome upon his return to Pakistan at Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Upon entering Pakistani airspace, the aircraft was greeted by Air Traffic Control, and the plane was honored with a special water cannon salute. A large crowd of citizens was present at Lahore Airport to welcome the national hero.

After disembarking, Arshad Nadeem was presented with a bouquet of flowers and flower garlands by airport security officials.

Emotional scenes were witnessed during his reunion with his father, who hugged him tightly and struggled to hold back tears.

N League leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Provincial Sports Minister Faisal Ayub, Rana Mashhood, and Azma Bukhari were present for the welcome.

Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Saad Rafique congratulated Arshad Nadeem with hugs, while Azma Bukhari presented him with a bouquet of flowers.

Arshad Nadeem’s family, friends, and villagers were present at Lahore Airport, along with a large number of citizens.

The Punjab Police Band provided a warm welcome, and the Olympian received a historic VIP protocol. The VIP lounge at Lahore Airport was cleared of civilians and secured.

Over 150 police personnel and officers provided security for Arshad Nadeem.

He was given a tour of Lahore in a double-decker bus, with traffic police leading his convoy. Elite vehicles were positioned before and after the bus.

According to police officials, a traffic pilot and an officer of DSP rank were assigned to ensure security up to the final limits, and divisional SPs were instructed to coordinate with SDPOs and SHOs in their areas.

After the tour of Lahore in the double-decker bus, Arshad Nadeem proceeded to his village, Mian Channu.

An announcement was made in his village, Mian Channu, Chak 101, over loudspeakers to prepare those who would go to the airport to receive Arshad Nadeem. Government buses were arranged to transport villagers to Lahore Airport.

Arshad Nadeem, accompanied by Major General (retd) Muhammad Akram Sahi, Vice President of Asian Athletics and Chairman of South Asian Athletics, traveled back to Pakistan from Paris.
