Lahore:The head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stated unequivocally that Israel’s existence cannot be accepted under any circumstances as the atrocities in Palestine continue.
Speaking at the Golden Jubilee Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that today’s gathering symbolizes Pakistan’s unity and the nation’s commitment to defending the finality of Prophethood.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman declared that some influential people have suggested accepting Israel, but he wants to send a message to the international community that Israel’s existence cannot be recognized.
He added that the ongoing Israeli oppression in Palestine is unacceptable, and Hamas fighters are advancing for the freedom of Palestine. He criticized the U.S., labeling it as a violator, not a defender, of human rights. He expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating, “We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Palestinian brothers whose blood is being shed.”
Regarding the domestic situation, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the government’s writ has ended in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, questioning the legitimacy of taxes if peace cannot be ensured.
He asserted, “This country is ours, and Islamic values must be upheld here. The Islamic Ideology Council represents all schools of thought.”
Commenting on the election process, he stated that the results of both the 2018 and 2024 elections were marred by rigging, and now the importance lies in the public assembly, where laws will be passed.
