Dacoits’ Attack in Rahim Yar Khan: Home Secretary and Punjab IG Depart to Oversee Operation

Following the Chief Minister’s directives, the Home Secretary and Inspector General (IG) of Punjab have departed to oversee the operation against dacoits in Rahim Yar Khan.

According to officials, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, Home Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, IG Punjab, Additional IG Special Branch, and Additional IG Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have been dispatched to the Kacha area to supervise the operation against the dacoits.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of police officers in the dacoits’ attack in the Kacha area and offered condolences to the families of the martyrs.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the martyred police officers and also directed that the injured officers receive the best possible medical care.

In Rahim Yar Khan’s Kacha area, dacoits attacked police vehicles with rockets, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 officers and injuries to 6 others, while 5 officers who were initially missing have been rescued. The 6 injured officers are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, two police vehicles were returning from their weekly duty in the Kacha area when one of the vehicles broke down, leading to a sudden rocket launcher attack. The District Police Officer (DPO) of Rahim Yar Khan has reached the scene, and further details are being gathered.

Following the incident, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz instructed the Punjab Home Secretary to reach the Kacha area and directed a robust operation to recover the missing police officers.
