Chaos at Peshawar Marathon Closing Ceremony, Youth Storm the Stage

There was chaos during the closing ceremony of the Peshawar Marathon as young participants stormed the stage, and athletes heavily criticized the event’s management.

During the ceremony, athletes expressed anger at the marathon administration, chanting slogans against them while young people climbed onto the stage.

Athletes accused the marathon administration of allowing people to join the race after it had started and claimed that the marathon was fraudulent, with favoritism shown to certain individuals and manipulation of tokens.

Following the athletes’ allegations, the Chief Minister’s Advisor for Sports, Fakhar Jahan, announced an investigation into the disorder.

The Peshawar Marathon was inaugurated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, with Muhammad Qasim securing first place and Muhammad Akhtar finishing second.

The 25-kilometer race from Chamkani to Hayatabad saw participation from over 3,000 athletes, with a prize of four lakh rupees for the winning athlete.
