Bangladeshi Cricketer Mahmud Hasan Donates Series Prize Money to Rickshaw Driver’s Family

Bangladeshi cricketer Mahmud Hasan Miraz has fulfilled his promise by donating the prize money from the series against Pakistan to the family of a rickshaw driver in Bangladesh.

Mahmud Hasan Miraz, who delivered an outstanding performance in the Test series against Pakistan, announced that he would give the prize money of 500,000 Bangladeshi Taka to the rickshaw driver’s family. The rickshaw driver had been killed during recent protests in Bangladesh.

Miraz, named Player of the Series for the Tests against Pakistan, had pledged to support the rickshaw driver’s family. Bangladesh had whitewashed Pakistan in the two-Test series.

Reports from a UN human rights organization indicated that over 600 people were killed during protests in Bangladesh from July 16 to August 11. Additionally, Noorjahan Begum, advisor to Bangladesh’s interim government, stated that more than 1,000 deaths occurred during the recent public protests.
