Bangladesh: Return of Looted Items from Prime Minister’s House Begins Following Student Leaders’ Appeal

Dhaka: In Bangladesh, the return of looted items from the Prime Minister’s House has begun following an appeal by student leaders.

Protesters have returned 500 items, including sensitive documents, furniture, electronic devices, jewelry, and even animals.

One protester, who had taken a duck from the Prime Minister’s House and later cooked and ate it, paid for the duck.

Another individual returned diamond jewelry, including a nose ring and earrings. Pigeons and a cat taken from the Prime Minister’s House were also returned.

Student leaders are still searching for a woman who took a makeup bag from the Prime Minister’s residence.

The returned confidential defense and security documents have been moved to a secure location under military supervision.

A counter has been set up at the gate of the Prime Minister’s House where people can return the looted items.

It is worth noting that on August 5, following violent protests and the resulting deaths of hundreds of people, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India.

After Sheikh Hasina fled to India, protesters stormed her official residence, causing damage and looting various items.
