Asia’s Powerful Typhoon Yagi Weakens After Reaching Vietnam

Asia’s most powerful typhoon of the year, Yagi, weakened after reaching Vietnam. The typhoon caused various incidents in Vietnam, resulting in 21 deaths and 229 injuries.

According to a foreign news agency report, Typhoon Yagi struck Vietnam on Sunday, severely impacting export-oriented factories and industrial infrastructure in northern Vietnam. Bruno Gespert, the head of Vietnam’s Deep Sea Industries Zone, stated that the typhoon caused significant damage to industrial units in the coastal city, tearing off roofs of several factories and damaging buildings. Around 150 investors’ plants were affected by the storm.

The typhoon also caused a flood situation in Vietnam’s capital, disrupting power and communication systems, affecting thousands of people. While the intensity of the storm has diminished after hitting Vietnam, the risks of floods and landslides remain.

Before reaching Vietnam, Typhoon Yagi had caused 4 deaths in China and 20 in the Philippines.
