ANF Foils Drug Smuggling Attempt Hidden in Potatoes at Karachi International Container Terminal

Karachi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs hidden in potatoes at the Karachi International Container Terminal.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the operation was carried out based on a tip-off. During the raid, a container of potatoes destined for Colombo, Sri Lanka was found to contain a large quantity of heroin.

Upon inspecting the suspicious refrigerator in the container, authorities discovered approximately 5 kilograms of heroin skillfully concealed in 122 out of 1,198 potato bags. Each of the 80 bags contained 1 to 2 heroin-filled potatoes.

The ANF team conducted the search with high professional skill and expertise. The container was booked by a private company.

Preliminary investigations have led to the arrest of one suspect, and raids are ongoing to capture additional individuals involved. The arrested suspect has been transferred to the ANF police station for further investigation.
