Linda Sun, a former assistant to two New York governors, has been identified as a Chinese agent.
According to U.S. media, Sun secretly worked for the Chinese government in exchange for millions of dollars.
The media reports that Sun faces charges for violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, as well as visa fraud, smuggling, and money laundering.
In light of these allegations, U.S. authorities have arrested Sun and her husband from their home on Long Island.
However, Sun and her husband have denied all charges against them in court.
