Flooding in Manchar Lake, Roads Submerged in Sindh

Due to continuous rains and floodwaters, Manchar Lake in Sindh has overflowed, causing water to advance towards the nearby settlement of Jhungara in Sehwan.

The severe storms in various parts of Sindh have left a trail of destruction, with numerous houses collapsing, crops being ruined, and affected residents left exposed under the open sky.

Water has not yet been drained from several areas including Hyderabad, Thatta, Sajawal, Mirpur Khas, and Tharparkar. In Dadu, where land routes are cut off, people have started traveling by boat.

The overflow from Manchar Lake has led to water spreading towards the nearby settlement of Jhungara in Sehwan, submerging access roads and severing ground connections to several villages.

The main road connecting Johi to Kachho has also been affected by the floodwaters, and in Badin’s Golarchi Tehsil, the rains have damaged mud houses and roads.

Additionally, floodwater has yet to be drained from several areas in Sajawal. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice and instructed the administration to urgently address the water drainage issues.
